IF IT’S A COMBINATION OF A BUSY LADY + MID-LIFE

 + A CLOTHING CRISIS; I CAN HELP!

So Hi! I’m Rosie

So, here is a little bit about me…

I am a multi-award winning stylist and my passion is helping ladies in the middle of their lives take the chaos out of their wardrobes so they feel like a million dollars when they get dressed and can go about their day with confidence about how they look. I have helped 100’s of women (and a few good men) to rediscover their style, reinvigorate their wardrobes, and make getting dressed stress-free and fun once more.

The Awards….

I have been a finalist at the EVA awards, a Women in Business award for women in the North West, I was also awarded a #WOW award by Jacqueline Gold (CEO of Ann Summers) as well as gaining recognition with a Bronze Award from within the company that I completed my Image Consultancy training with.

The Book….

Then, in June 2018, I launched my first book, Find Your Style, Find Your Confidence (Because Getting Dressed is about More Than Just Clothes) which helps to explain what I do and how I work with my clients, as well as give some great style hints and tips along the way.

OK, to answer a few questions that may be crossing your mind….

Why Ladies in Middle-Age?

Because I get it! I know what it is like when you realise that you are ready for a new you! That the items in your wardrobe no longer reflect who you are – but you don’t know how to dress the woman you are today. I truly believe that when we feel we look good, we feel better and more confident which can then have a ripple effect in other areas of our lives; and I want all of my clients to feel like this.

For many of the ladies that I work with, things are changing; whether it is the arrival of kids or kids growing up, a change in career, change in relationship, changes in body shape, health challenges or a milestone birthday, they feel that they clothes that they own simply do not reflect who they are any more. They feel that that their style is stuck in a rut and they are ready for a change but they just don’t know where to start!

If this is not you but you are thinking of working with me, that is great too! I love what I do and over the years I have helped women of all ages and with different objectives. Please just get in touch and lets chat and see if I can help.

What is Different About What You Offer?

My objective is to help my clients to create a flexible wardrobe of clothes that can easily be mixed and matched so they can buy less but wear their items more. A wardrobe of clothes that makes them look and feel amazing and makes getting dressed every day just easy!

Since starting my business however, I have recognised that some of my clients, and other ladies I have spoken too, need support to implement changes. Change requires a leap of faith and without support, some ladies will struggle on their own. For these clients, I provide a total solution that offers them support on every step of their journey. This gives them the reassurance that they need, helps them to gain confidence and maximises the investment they have made.

Other clients that I work with, are just simply time poor. They want to make a change but just do not have the time around family and work commitments. They want someone that can literally do it for them, so they can focus on what is important to them. For these clients, I provide a full service which requires little in time commitment from them. I do the shopping for them and then bring the clothes to them at their home or office to try on. Anything they like, they keep but anything they choose not to keep, I return for them. Plus, they get a seasonal wardrobe update too.

But shouldn’t I know what suits me?

We only know what we know. Yes, some people have that skill already but for many of us, we need some help. Especially, if things have changed or we have put ourselves to the last in the queue for our attention and our confidence and self-esteem are low. Knowing what truly suits means that you can shop and dress with confidence and this can have a positive impact in other parts of your life. When we know we look good, we feel good and this helps our confidence to grow so going to that event, meeting new people, starting that new job or doing that presentation becomes less of a challenge.

Do I need a Stylist to help me?

Only you can decide this. You may decide to enlist the help of your friends. Friends can be great but sometimes they will have an image in their head which of what suits you, which may not be aligned with what you want for yourself. The consequence being that you buy items that you don’t really love and feel uncomfortable.  You can keep trying to sort this out yourself, but if this means trawling the stores feeling lost, confused and frustrated, then maybe it is time to take action once and for all. If you want to get better at something, you get some help from an expert. After all, Olympic athletes know how to run, but they still have a coach to make sure that they perform their best.

What about In-store Personal Shoppers?

Personal Shoppers can be great; especially if you are looking for a few new items to add to your wardrobe or an outfit for a special occasion but if you are really struggling with all this then we really need to get back to basics. This means spending time getting clear on what your style and what truly makes you feel comfortable and confident in what you wear. The services that I offer allow me to spend the time with you to make sure that we get it right and then support and guide you through every step.

I need to lose some weight, do I need to do this first?

No! Why are you waiting to look and feel more stylish and more confident? I don’t care what age, weight or size that you are, I can show you how to look and feel fabulous! I know how to help you conceal the areas that you feel self-conscious of and highlight the great things about you. Stylists are masters of distraction – if people are drawn to your face and your smile, they are not looking at your tummy, your thighs or knobbly knees. By using colour, fabric, pattern and clothing styles, I can help you to look visually slimmer, taller, younger and more refreshed. Do you really want to put that on hold? Isn’t it time you spent some time on you? You are important too! Plus for some of my clients, consultations with me have been a catalyst to starting a weight loss journey.

What qualifications do you have?

I studied for Personal Styling qualifications in both Manchester and London have the certificates to show that I have reached the standard required. I continue to bolster my knowledge with regular courses to ensure that my skills are up to date and that I can give exceptional advice. I also have the experience of working with hundreds of clients which means I have worked with lots of different ages, shapes and sizes and a whole host of body insecurities from knobbly knees to bingo wings. All of which enables me to help you to understand how to dress in a way that makes you feel confident!

Can I chat things through with you before making a decision?

Absolutely! I would love to have a no-obligation chat with you so I can understand more about how I may be able to help. I offer a free 20 minute no-obligation Skype or telephone call so we can chat things through, you can ask any questions and learn more about me and if you would like to work with me. If at the end of the call, it’s not for you or you want more time to think about things, that is totally fine.

How do I reach you?

Please just complete the contact form at the bottom of the page, email me at hello@rosiehuckle.com or call me on 07980 621989. I am really looking forward to chatting with you!

My reason for visiting Rosie was that I’d had fifteen years away from a career workplace whilst raising three children and felt very out of date and wore very little make up and felt quite unconfident. My new job was quite demanding in terms of having to have a good appearance – presenting to new customers and being at the front of trade show stands etc so it was important to look my best. Since my session, all of my family and friends have noticed the difference in my confidence – I feel I have gone back to being the old me “pre-children” which was a woman full of confidence and happy in her own skin…..It also motivated me to lose some more weight so I had the confidence to go from a size 14/16 to a size 12.

Want to Know More? Here 10 Things You May Not Know About Me….

1.

I LOVE what I do but I do NOT have a “passion for fashion”!

Don’t get me wrong, I love clothes and shopping and I absolutely love my job but is about much more than the latest sleeve detail or hem length for me. What I AM passionate about is helping women who feel that they have lost their style and who dislike most of the clothes that own, create a wardrobe of clothes that they love and that make them look and feel fabulous!

2.

Before Training as a Stylist, I Worked in IT

I know! Very little in common but it was my role in IT that led me to styling when a colleague mentioned that his wife had trained and it really intrigued me. I had NO idea, that styling was an actual job! Plus, I was really struggling to dress in a way that made me feel confident and was wasting SOOOOOO much money on clothes I never or rarely wore and was tired of feeling that I had got it wrong – again – when at events or out with friends. So, I did my research, booked my training and haven’t looked back since!

3.

I Can’t Stand The Smell of Doughnuts!!

Before I found my way into IT, I worked for a Supermarket as a Student mainly on the Bakery counter and many hours were spent putting jam into doughnuts and rolling them in sugar! After 2 years, I could hardly bear to look a doughnut in the eye!

4.

My Dream Was To Be a Ballerina

Before doughnuts, IT and Styling, my dream growing up was to be a ballerina. Many hours were spent in dance classes, putting on “shows”  with friends and making up routines in my bedroom. I can vividly remember going to buy my first pair of pointe shoes; it was one of the most exciting days of my life! Sadly, it was not to be but it is not all gone to waste… I can still throw in a good pirouette and am often having a boogie to the radio!

5.

I Love my Food!

I do plan my days around my meals! I do suffer from “hunger rage” when not fed on time so my handbag will ALWAYS contain snacks “just in case”.

6.

Fashion Faux-Pas

Trust me, I have had a few! From arriving at at my first ball in exactly the same dress as the lady I sat next too, to arriving at a Showaddywaddy concert in full teddy girl outfit with 3 friends – when no-one else was in costume! Been there, done that and got the  (obviously very stylish) T-Shirt!

7.

My Love of Style….

…..comes from my beautiful Mum. Some of my earliest memories are of watching my Mum doing her make-up and getting dressed up to go out with my Dad. She would even do her hair and make-up to meet my Dad when he came home from work! Still super stylish today, my Mum is a master of co-ordination and accessorising!

8.

I am actually Welsh….

Born in North Wales and brought up on Angelsey before moving “up North” due to my Dad’s work. I can still count to 10 in Welsh – but that is far as it goes….

9.

I Have a “Thing” for Jackets…

…..and have several in various colours! Not sure if it stems from my corporate life or not but if there is a jacket- especially if it is in a sale – that is in my size and that I like, it WILL generally be coming home with me!

10.

My Favourite Part of my Job…

…..are wardrobe edits. I love every part of what of I do, but there is something special for me about a wardrobe edit. Especially the final part where I show my clients how to pull together outfits from items that they already own but in combinations that they have tried before. It’s great to see them get excited about their wardrobe again – without them having to buy anything new.

What a difference it makes to open my wardrobe and know that I have 20+ combinations I know will look great. No more piles of discarded clothes on the bed each morning, and I have received loads of compliments on the colours I’m wearing. I never thought I’d be wearing hot pink trousers at 58 years old but I love them! Thank you so much for taking me outside my comfort zone and getting me out of my jeans with a whole new casual look.
